Citizens in St. Tammany Parish are safer today because of our improved 9-1-1 system. In early 2007, the St. Tammany Parish Communications District installed new communications equipment in 9-1-1 centers through out St. Tammany Parish. With this new equipment, 9-1-1 call takers are able to send police, fire and medical help to you quickly and accurately. St. Tammany Parish call centers are equipped with enhanced 9-1-1 and wireless phase I and wireless phase II technology.

The St. Tammany Parish Communications District is funded by the emergency 9-1-1 fee assesed on your landline or cell phone bill.  The fees are $1.00 per residential landline, $2.00 per business landline and .85 cents per cell phone.
